CD player 140

CD player 140

The CD140 combines a digital section (32 bits in 768 kHz) with an analog tube output. This output stage uses the Square Tube® operational amplifier. Equipped with 4 triodes per channel, this innovative circuit gives the analog signal all its qualities.

Digital signal processing recovers all the information recorded on the CD. AKM’s chip upsamples the signal to 768 kHz. This allows the signal to be filtered at higher frequencies, removing the residue of the digital conversion from the audible band. A circuit developed by Kora ensures that all digital clocks remain synchronized with the original CD signal. Digital -to-analog conversion is entrusted to a latest-generation ROHM DAC.

The Square Tube® ensures smooth, precise musicality. Powered by high voltage, the output stage has no amplitude limits: signal dynamics remain natural. With a pure-analog output filter, the respect of phases ensures exceptional spatialization. You’re totally immersed in a three- dimensional soundstage!

Phono Stage

Phono Stage

The Kora Phono stage is a real «Swiss army knife» that will enable you to extract all the subtleties of your vinyl records while respecting the requirements of your pickup.

The phono Stage Kora is an audio adaptation of the EPC1 D, an ultra-low-noise laboratory preamplifier with unique characteristics (built by Kora’s professional division).

In the input stage, high-precision metal foil resistors are used. The correction capacitors use polystyrene technology. The Phono Stage adapts to all types of pickups, whether variable reluctance, moving magnets or moving coils.

The preamplifier features four individually programmable inputs. For each, you can set gain, input impedance, input capacitance and connection type. Two inputs are on three-pin «XLR» type sockets, which can be used to receive a cell connected symmetrically (two signal wires plus ground) or asymmetrically (one signal wire and a reference, ground). Two other inputs are coaxial «RCA» sockets. These two inputs are unbalanced by design.

The preamplifier has two unbalanced and two balanced outputs that can operate simultaneously.

On start-up, the phono adapter retains its previous programming. Without any action on your part, the previously used input is displayed and confirmed. To change input, simply rotate the encoder to select the active input. Each time the input is changed, the phono adapter is automatically reconfigured without further intervention.

All programmed parameters are stored in memory.

DAC 140

DAC 140

Kora wished to offer you a converter whose design and realization leave no room for compromise.

8 inputs (SPDIF, optical, AES-EBU, USB) make your Kora DAC the nerve center of your system.

Technologically, as on the CD player, the clocks are realized by frequency multipliers, and are therefore in perfect synchronization with the sources.

Thanks to an AKM “up sampling” circuit, the digital flow is transformed into 32 bits and a maximum frequency of 768 kHz.

At the output of the converter, a “Square Tube” circuit ensures the filtering and the provision of the audio signal at the output. An additional balanced output is offered on a pair of XLR sockets.

Preamplifier 140

Here is the natural complement to the Kora amplifiers of the TA series.

5 inputs, one of which is balanced, give all the flexibility to this device that will harmonize all your sources.

The “Square Tube” output stage, on the same principle as our amplifiers, is armed to drive the connecting cables without weakening.

Placed in front of any amplifier, the Kora preamplifier will give you access to the fineness of the details, matched with the dynamics, the naturalness and the smoothness, all at the same time.

The Kora preamplifier has a compartment for an expansion module. A phono input and a DAC card are in preparation.

Kora TB140

Product

Kora TB140

Like the entire range of Kora amplifiers, the TB140 is powered by the Square Tube® operational amplifier. Equipped with 4 triodes per channel, this innovative assembling gives all its qualities to the amplifier.

SquareTube® provides every amplification functions. Its output voltage is the one that will be applied to the speaker outputs. Audio power transistors, exceptionally linear, are the only ones to provide what technicians call “impedance matching”. The transistors will give the speakers the required current, without amplifying the signal. Their role is somewhat the same as the one generally assigned to the output transformer.

However, the SquareTube® / Transistors combination does not know the difficulties associated with the usual transformers:

> no phase shifts on low frequencies,

> no phase shifts on high frequencies,

> no bad coupling on low end,

> and above all: no current limitation!

The combination of SquareTube®’s high voltage capacity and the high current of the output transistors gives you an unmatched high definition power amplifier.

> The tubes give you softness, the transistors offer you unrestrained energy

> SquareTube® offers phase accuracy and will reveal an abundance of unsuspected details from your sources with natural dynamics.

> The amplifier is highly stable, even on complex loads.

Kora TA240

Product

Kora TA240

Like the entire Kora amplifier range, the TA 240 is powered by the Square Tube® operational amplifier. Equipped with 4 triodes per channel, this innovative circuitry provides very unique musical qualities to the amplifier.

The Square Tube® provides all functions of amplification and control of the audio signal. Its output voltage is that which will be applied to the speaker outputs. Complementary power transistors, audio and hyper-linear will give the current required by the speakers, but without interfering in the amplification of the signal. Technicians call it “Impedance matching”. The power transistors can be seen as the output transformer.

But the Square Tube® / Transistors combination does not face the limitation usually associated with the usual output transformers:
→ There are no phase shifts in the low frequencies,
→ There are no phase shifts in the high frequencies,
→ There is no bad coupling in the low frequencies and above all: no current limitation!

The combination of the high voltage capacitance of the Square Tube® and the high current of the output transistors gives you a very high definition power amplifier.
→ The tubes give the smoothness, the transistors give the unre- strained energy.
→ SquareTube® brings phase accuracy and will extract a wealth of unsuspected detail from your sources with natural dynamics. → At last but not least, the amplifier is very stable, even with complex loads.
